Megan O’ReillyLegal Executive
Megan joined the Property Department in February 2024 and predominantly deals with residential and commercial property transactions. Megan has a first class honours Bachelor of Law Degree and later obtained a first class Master’s Degree in Law from John Moore’s University, Liverpool. She then went on to obtain her Legal Practice Certificate and is qualified as a solicitor in the United Kingdom and Wales.
Megan assists the Property partners in acting for a number of large institutional and corporate clients in acquisitions, dispositions, governance, regulatory and financing matters. She also acts for a number of commercial landlords and tenants in relation to landlord and tenant matters.
Megan has high level experience with the progression of possession and judgment portfolio’s for national banks, ICAV’s, Asset Servicing Companies, Pension Funds and Private Equity Companies. She has experience in mortgagee in possession cases, Assignee in Bankruptcy and judgement litigation with a large case load in various stages of management.
She has acted for a Dublin Local Authority advising on diverse property and industrial development issues, such as acquiring lands through Compulsory Purchase Orders (CPOs), disposals of industrial lands, handling consent applications, procuring properties to fulfil housing needs and advising on property-related aspects of planning and strategic infrastructure projects. Megan also discreetly handles personal private client matters for multiple high net worth individuals.
Recent highlights of Megan’s work include:
- Advising a large international retail chain in relation to the acquisition and subsequent development of commercial sites;
- Completion of the sale of a large Hotel and Licensed premises in the sale of the Hotel, Restaurant, Bar and grounds to include all TUPE matters;
- Advising an ICAV in relation to their shopping centre portfolio (which comprised seven shopping centres) in relation to agreements for lease, leases, licences and all of its asset management requirements.
- Guiding a Local Authority in all disposal and acquisition matters to include advising on complex litigation regarding the acquisition of a large development site;
- Assisting on the completion of the sale of one of Dublin’s highest-value residential homes;
