- Qualified as a Solicitor in 2008. Became a Partner in a Legal 500 recommended boutique media law and commercial litigation practice in 2019 before joining Reddy Charlton in 2023.
- Particular expertise in all aspects of media law including defamation, privacy, contempt of court, intellectual property, and data protection.
- Provides production and pre-publication legal advice to a host of newspaper titles, independent production companies, podcasts, and international television networks.
- Partner in Reddy Charlton’s litigation department with a focus on commercial litigation, defamation / privacy actions, and property related disputes.
- Representing clients in the arbitration and mediation of professional negligence claims, shareholder and property disputes, and breach of contract actions.
Recent Work Highlights
- Advising the Irish producer on the production and financing arrangements for “LOL: Last One Laughing Ireland” hosted by Graham Norton for worldwide broadcast on Amazon Prime.
- Acting for the Irish co-producer on a range of US television series recorded in Ireland for the Fox network including “Beat Shazam” hosted by Jamie Foxx / Nick Cannon, “Name That Tune” hosted by Jane Krakowski and Randy Jackson, “Don’t Forget The Lyrics”, “I Can See Your Voice”, “So You Think You Can Dance”, and “Crime Scene Kitchen”.
- Providing pre-publication advice and litigation services to News Group UK & Ireland’s operations including The Irish Sun, The Sunday Times Ireland, and Wireless Ireland (owners of stations including FM104, Dublin’s Q102, LMFM, Cork’s 96FM, and Live 95).
- Plaintiff litigation on a number of significant personal injury and medical negligence claims.
- Representing a property investment company in the arbitration of a professional negligence claim against a leading estate agency.
- Legal guidance on the BAFTA and Royal Television Society award-winning documentary “The Missing Children” examining the story of the infamous Mother & Baby Home in Tuam, Co. Galway.
- Negotiating the terms of various exclusive licence agreements to secure some of Ireland’s largest stages and studio facilities for the establishment of hubs for international television formats.
- Production lawyer for many of Ireland’s leading television series including “Ireland’s Fittest Family”, “Operation Transformation”, “My Bungalow Bliss”, “Help Me Buy A Home”, “Great House Revival”, “Davy’s Toughest Team”, “Marú inár Measc” and “Misneach”.
