Clare Snaddon

Clare joined the firm in April 2024 to work in the commercial department with Partner, Elaine McGrath. Clare completed her legal training in 2022 at Adams & Adams, in South Africa, after attaining her Bachelor of Health Sciences (Biomedical Sciences) and an LLB from the University of the Witwatersrand in 2017 and 2020, respectively. Clare was admitted as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa, in March 2023.

Clare advises clients of all aspects of their intellectual property portfolio, including portfolio management and enforcement.  She has assisted in a broad range of litigious intellectual property matters in South Africa, and throughout Africa, including disputes relating to trade marks, copyright, passing-off, unlawful competition, domain name disputes as well as company and business name objections. Clare has been involved in several high-profile trade mark cases that have gone before the Supreme Court of Appeal of South Africa, for major international homeware brands and one of South Africa’s major FMCG brands.
