Reddy Charlton supports Sightsavers 2022!

On Thursday 13 October 2022 Reddy Charlton were delighted to celebrate again World Sight Day with Sightsavers by abseiling 150ft off Croke Park in aid of Sightsavers.

This year we had Vincent Sheridan, Thomas Whelan and Sarah Bruen all harnessed up and ready for the drop.

We know that 2.2 billion people (a quarter of the world’s population) have a visual impairment.  Nearly half of these people could have had their impairment prevented or treated.

The leading cause of visual impairments are cataracts and refractive error.  And while both of these conditions can be easily prevented and treated through a simple surgery or pair of glasses, quite often people in low income countries do not have access to such services. On average, across Sightsavers’ programmes, it costs just €3.50 for a pair of glasses and €32 for a cataract surgery that takes less than 20 minutes to perform. We believe eye health care should be inclusive, affordable and accessible to everyone.

A huge THANK YOU to all our colleagues who have contributed to this charity!
