CRO Update – 13 October 2020 – Extension of Annual Return filing deadline for companies

Covid-19 – CRO Update – 13 October 2020
Extension of Annual Return filing deadline for companies

This note is part of a series that the lawyers of Reddy Charlton will issue on the major legal, personal and business issues that will confront us all during the Covid-19 crisis.

The Companies Registration Office (‘’the CRO”) has announced that the Registrar has extended the filing deadlines for all companies having an annual return date on or after 30 September 2020.

Filing obligations will be deemed to have been met provided that all elements of the relevant returns have been submitted by no later than 26 February 2021. However, companies are encouraged to file as normal during this period if in a position to do so.

Those Companies that opted to avail of the CRO extension to file their annual returns and associated documents on or before 31 October 2020 and have not yet done so must still adhere to that fast approaching deadline. All other companies having an annual return date between 7 September and 29 September 2020, inclusive, must file their annual returns and associated documents within the normal filing deadlines.
