PPS numbers for directors to complete certain CRO filings – signed into law – not yet commenced
The Companies (Corporate Enforcement Authority) Act 2021 was signed into law on 22 December 2021 but has not yet commenced. On or after the commencement of Section 35 of this Act, a director will be required to provide his or her personal public service number (‘PPSN’) in relation to certain CRO electronic filings to include:-
- Company incorporations
- Annual returns
- Notice of changes of directors and secretaries
Where a director does not have a PPSN then the identity of the director must be provided to the CRO in the manner prescribed by the Registrar. This may involve the completion of an application for a CRO number for the director similar to the procedure required in relation to the filing of the details of beneficial owners of Companies with the RBO where the beneficial owner does not have a PPSN.
