Deadlines and the Christmas Period
The festive season is well and truly underway. However, I would urge you not to ‘clock off’ for Christmas before paying attention to any upcoming filing deadlines. It is better to be prudent and organised now than to start the new year on the back foot.
Remember – each late annual return filing carries a €100 late filing fee and an additional €3 each day the accounts are late, along with the loss of audit exemption for two years.
Be mindful of dates and ensure that you take heed of any correspondence received from the CRO or from us at Reddy Charlton and keep them in your diary. Furthermore, make sure that you work with your auditors and accountants to ensure that your accounts are ready to be sent to Reddy Charlton for lodging with the CRO, well in advance of the submission deadline.
Please note that our offices will be closed from 21 December 2018 until Wednesday 2 January 2019. In addition the CRO has limited opening hours over the Christmas period as set out below:-
Monday | 24 December 2018 | 9.30am to 12 noon |
Tuesday | 25 December 2018 | Closed |
Wednesday | 26 December 2018 | Closed |
Thursday | 27 December 2018 | 9.30am to 1.00pm and 2.15 pm to 4.30pm |
Friday | 28 December 2018 | 9.30am to 1.00pm and 2.15pm to 4.30pm |
Monday | 31 December 2018 | 9.30am to 1.00pm and 2.15pm to 4.30pm |
Tuesday | 1 January 2018 | Closed |
Wednesday | 2 January | Normal hours resume |
If in doubt, please contact Maeve Walsh at mwalsh@reddycharlton.ie who will remind you of your filing obligations.
